As the legend says, Lev Cellar was exactly that mysterious place where night meetings of the Lviv lions took place once a year. Only those noble and well known citizens of Lviv used to be invited there who made some good deeds for the city and were worthy of the name Lviv Lions.

Lev Cellar is the first medieval restaurant in Lviv. An ancient cellar with the taste and odour of piquant honey ribs on the elbow, wild boar meat in red wine and juicy baked pork hind knuckle create an atmosphere of the genuine knights’ banquet.

Internationally renowned Amadeus has become a very special meeting place for people of good taste of all nationalities. Intimate ambiences, warm and elegant decoration, live evening jazz played by professionals. This is a cozy place resembling Viennese cafes and small restaurants (after all, Lviv was a part of Austro-Hungarian Empire for over 200 years), decorated smartly with a lot of antique things and old pictures. the great atmosphere is matched by delicious food. the restaurant is small, no more than 8 tables (in the summer, the tables are doubled thanks to the terrace), so always ask for a reservation. Thats true art cafe, situated in realy old building. Nice to sit outside at day, and at evenings - inside. Thats the main place of gathering all cream of art society - artists, musicians. All furniture is antiques. Besides, all antiques stuff is for sale - there you can buy tables, chairs, paintings, floor clocks, sideboard, also lately there opened antiques shop where you can buy smaller things, all kinds of old household stuff. In the same building there is an gallery of modern art, which re-new often, and there you will find true worth-a-look stuff. This cafe is owned by famous Lviv's art association "Dzyga", who cares about young and modern writers, mucisians, artists.
Also dont miss awesome graffity in the close inner yard of cafe.

Cuisine:

This is rather the cafe, not restaurant, and it is famous mostly by atmosphere. It is nice to have here a little snack while looking for a good purchase.

Cafe Pid Synoju Flazkoju

The Kavarna Pid Synoju Flazkoju (Cafe Under the Blue Bottle) is an authentic old style Lviv cafe. his cafe it is situated there /with few brakes/ from 1501. There only 5 tables, they all time ocuppaid, but you can try your luck! It is made in romantic style of 1938 of western Ukraine with awesome music like Goran Bregovich. Also, no electricity lighting, only candles. Also, in the same inneryard, situated the oldest lion in the city.The interior is decorated with many memorabilia from the Austro-Hungarian Empire era and other historic souvenirs. The cafe consists of only 5 tables and becomes more and more popular. So a reservation seems to be highly recommended.
