Alpine Slovenia

It covers the North-Western part of Slovenia. A view of the Soca and the upper Sava river valleys spreads below Mount Triglav, Slovenia’s highest mountain. Lying between the two rivers is Triglav National Park, which protects numerous endemic animal and plant species in a region of high rocky mountains, deeply cut river gorges, high-mountain karst shafts, and attractive low mountains. This region is a home of glacial beauties – Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj and lively ski resorts Kranjska Gora, Krvavec and Vogel. We invite you to ride with us to Bled Island in traditional wooden boat, try Bled cake and blueberry liqueur and ring the bell of wishes in the island church. We guarantee that all the wishes will come true! Experience with us endless winter activities in Kranjska Gora and its surroundings (snowmobile rides, huski rides, overnights in igloos, night tobogganing at full moon and much more). Join us at the yearly international parties at slalom World Cup in Kranjska Gora and ski jumping World Cup in Planica. Come rafting with us to the Sava River, canyoning to Bohinj, ride up to Vogel above Bohinj Lake and enjoy spectacular view of the Julian Alps and Triglav National Park, visit a dairy farm museum, try some rural work on a farm and taste local cheeses and meat specialties. Bohinj Lake offers the best swimming in the world!

Further down the south lies Kranj, the capital of the Alpine region. Its pleasant historical old core is rising high on a rocky prominence above the confluence of rivers Sava and Kokra. In the immediate vicinity of the old town core is the Kokra Canyon, which was declared a natural sight. Kranj is also called a town of France Preseren – Slovenian greatest poet because he spent the last years of his life here and is also burried here. Not far from Kranj lies Skofja Loka which is considered the most beautifully preserved medieval city in Slovenia. Its rich cultural heritage intertwines with unspoiled nature, earning the city the name “Gallery in Nature,” while the picturesque and colourful house facades fostered yet another: “Motley Loka”.
