KRANJSKA GORA – In the Julian Alps



Kranjska Gora (810 m above sea level), the scene of the Alpine Skiing World Cup races, lies at the foothills of Julian Alps in picturesque valley of Sava river, where many hotels, surrounded by green meadows and woods are situated. The village, placed right on the entrance to the Triglav national park, offers a great variety of long and pleasant walks or hikes in the intact and clean natural environment. It is vivacious settlement, among tourists appreciated during the summer as well as during the winter season. Kranjska Gore offers 30 km of ski runs and 40 km of cross country skiing tracks, opened ice-skating ring and numerous other opportunities for practicing various types of sports. There are several restaurants with typical local food, many pubs, cafes, bars and a Casino. Just 5 kilometres away from Kranjska Gora, which conserves the image of traditional alpine village, one can find Planica – a world known ski jumping resort with the biggest ski jump in in the world!
