'Artist Gallery' is a fascinating restaurant, and mainly due to the fact that it is directly related to 'Tsereteli Art Gallery' and located in the same building (the former palace of Dolgorukov Princes constructed in late 18th century). From the other side are the showrooms of Russian Academy of Arts. Such neighborhood and regular patronage of tireless Russian Academy of Arts President Zurab Tsereteli caused the use of his mosaics, frescos and bronze bas-reliefs in the restaurant interior. The plots of the works correspond to the names of the seven halls - 'Italian', 'Slavic', 'Bronze', 'Flower', VIP, 'Atrium' (or 'Enamel Hall'), and especially 'The Apple of Love'. The latter is part of the 'Art Gallery', but for some events it becomes the restaurant hall. Anyone can sit inside a 15-meter fruit reflecting upon eternal matters. The cuisine in the 'Artist Gallery' is not less fascinating and various. Visitors are offered best dishes of European and Japanese cuisine. But a special emphasis must be given to fusion cuisine on which Chef Andrey Kravchenko works especially hard.

Restaurant "Vanilla"

Address: Ostozhenka Str. 1/9, Moscow

Cuisine: French, Japanese

Capacity: 240 seats

The restaurant is situated in front of the Christ the Savior Cathedral in Ostozhenka Street, one of the oldest streets of Moscow. The restaurant is decorated in Hi-tech style with elements of Eastern minimalism. Multilevel space and the symmetrically lined up furniture achieve the austere laconic style. At one of the levels there is a row of tables facing the Christ the Savior Cathedral. One of the rooms of the restaurant is decorated in eastern style with comfortable sofas and soft lighting. It is comfortable, with candles burning in the evening and background instrumental music during the daytime.A huge mirror stands in the big hall. “Vanilla” is status. It’s not an accident that since the first days the restaurant became so popular with successful accomplished people. As always, it starts with the interior. The interior is trendy, without unneeded philosophizing. It’s a loft, a studio. It’s a single space, open inside and outside. By the way, the interior doesn’t make an impression of something expensive and pompous, debit and credit are not the ultimate goal here. There’s no need to show off the price. It’s playing cheap. It’s a setting for a very modern play.”All this was said in 2001 when “Vanilla” became one of the first restaurants with this approach to atmosphere.
