Moscow is the capital of Russia situated in the European part of Russia on the banks of the Moskva River. Moscow was founded by Prince Yuiri Dolgoruky in 1147. Until 1712 it was the capital of old Russian State. In 1918 the city had once again became the nation's capital.
Nowadays Moscow is one of the largest cities in the world (more than 9 mln inhabitants). It is the political, cultural and economic center of Russia, seat of the Russian government and the embassies of foreign states, the location of major banks, educational and cultural institutions.
