Zumit ***

The building created in 1816, from the Othman period, this property was used as a rendezvous place for merchant convoys coming from Africa and Europe. It is located centrally, near Tripoli Harbor, and in front of Marcus Aurelius Arch, at "Bab El Bahr" (the sea door) in the old city; which is one of the remains of Roman OEA on which Tripoli is located.

The owners have completely renovated the building to be used as a hotel. Zumit hotel has been inaugurated on September 20^th, 2006 by the Libyan officials and rated as a 3 star hotel.

It consists of 2 floors, 4 suites, and 10 standard rooms provided with A/C, utilities and telephones, with a restaurant and a coffee shop. All furniture is from oriental traditional handworks. Zumit hotel is to be considered as the only Boutique hotel in Libya.
