Germa
Dar Germa ***

Hotel Dar Germa is a little refuge surrounded by the black jagged rocks of Massek Settafet and the golden sand dunes of the Ramla al Dawada. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The hotel offers 28 very comfortable guestrooms, located on two floors, each provided with an en-suite bathroom with shower or bath. Two large spacious suites with en-suite bathrooms are also available.
A handicraft shop and a restaurant serving both European and local cuisine are accessible from the lobby. An inviting seating area beckons you to sit and chat at leisure, whilst tasting a traditional cup of desert tea. When the evenings become too hot, a beautiful terrace immersed in plants and Mediterranean flowers will host you.
The hotel Dar Germa (3 star) is definitely the best facility of the kind in the area of Sebha, Germa, Ubari and surroundings. It is an ideal starting point for excursions to the Dawada lakes in the erg of Ubari and to the magnificent rock carvings of Messak Settafet.

Dar Auis (Fixed Camp)

Respect for the environment has always been crucial in all our choices and it was foremost in our minds when coming to the decision of building the permanent campsite Dar Auis. Here we used colors and materials that integrate perfectly with the shades of the Sahara. The tents consist of a wooden frame covered with golden and blue cotton canvas that echoes the colors of the sand and the sky. We picked the rocks from the Acacus Mountains to be handles for our doors. The smallest details highlight our commitment to respect the nature that surrounds the campsite.
The campsite consists of 25 large tents (4,50 x 3,50 m.) with wooden floors that keep the structure off the sand. Each tent is furnished with two beds, two chest of drawers, two bedside lamps, a wardrobe, a washbasin with a mirror and a jug of water. Sheets, duvets and towels are provided.

Every tent has a veranda with seats and a small table. The toilets and individual showers are situated in an annex close to the tents. Five new tents have recently been built: they present similar characteristics to the ones described, but with the addition of en-suite bathrooms. The camp has a large tented restaurant where we serve mostly European food and a selection of local dishes. A Berber tent with cushions and mats welcomes the guests in the evening. Around the fire they may drink green tea served according to the Tare ritual. The site is equipped with an electric generator that supplies communal areas and tents with electricity at 220 volts. A satellite phone is available for our guests.
