Baroque Rome

Walking tour „Discovering the Baroque Rome“ a unique and unforgettable journey through the wonders of Rome, the Pantheon, Navona Square, St. Ivo’s Church, Spada Gallery, Campo dei Fiori Market. The Pantheon, commenced in the I century B. C., was rebuilt during Adrian's era. It is the best-preserved ancient monument in the world. The circular interior is surprising for its huge space and perfect harmony. Navona square is a typical example of re-utilization of old Roman spaces; in fact in 80 B. C. the place was used as a Stadium for athletic games and now, with its fountains and obelisk, is one of the Baroque wonders of Rome St. Ivo’s church built in 1646 by Borromini has one of the most famous domes in Rome. The perspective gallery of Palazzo Spada is an incredible visual joke built for the pleasure of Cardinal Virgilio Spada in the 18th century.


Vatican City & Vatican’s Museums

A visit will be made to either the Catacombs of S. Callisto, Santa Domitilla or San Sebastiano depending upon seasonal conditions. The tour will end with a spectacular view of the Baths of the Emperor Caracalla.
