Itinerary:

Day 01: Delhi / Shimla ( 343 kms / 10 hrs).

Depart Delhi to Shimla en route halt at Parwanoo for refreshments. On arrival in Shimla check in at Hotel.

Overnight : Hotel

Day 02: Shimla / Sarahan 183 kms.

Morning sightseeing of Shimla - visit wild flower hall, Kufri, Fagu, Theog, Narkanda and the old town of Rampur before arriving at Sarahan in the evening after 8 hrs trip. Not many places in HP present such a gorgeous spectacle of snow-covered Himalayan range, a picture of unspoiled pastoral, loveliness at the unpretentious village of Sarahan. It also commands a view of Srikhand Mahadev Peak – the abode of Lord Shiva. A mixture of Hindu and Buddhist architecture, the ancient temple of Bhimakah is the main attraction.

Day 03: Sarahan / Kalpa 145 kms [6 hrs]

Drive to Kalpa. The Baspa valley is the prettiest valley in the Himalayas. Its terrain and green vegetation on the slopes are not very steep. Sangla a popular village situated on the right bank of Baspa is built on a slope with the houses sizing one above the other with the gigantic Kinner Kailash peak dominating the scene. The bewitching scenery and the eternal snow view are memorable sights of mankind. At Sangla, spend some time to enjoy the panoramic view of the surroundings. This pass opens the road to Garhwal Himalayas.

After lunch drive to Puh [3,200 Mts.] Puh lies in the rain shadow region situated on the confluence of Spiti and Sutlej. Further drive of about 13 kms will take you to Kalpa. Kalpa is the district headquarters of Kinaur and is situated at a height of 2579 Mts. Once a favorite haunt of Lord Dalhousie. In front of Kalpa is an impressive view of the Raldang Kailash massif directly across the Sutlej River.

Day 04: Kalpa / Tabo 150 KMS

Start safari for Tabo [3200 Mts] via Nako Monastery. The Tabo monastery is an ordinary mud structure but inside it has beautiful frescoes, which earned Tabo the epither of “AJANTA OF HIMALAYAS”. The distance will be covered in about 7 hrs.

Day 05: Tabo/Kaza 60 KMS (Kyelong Valley)

Drive to Kaza. Distance will be covered in about 2 hrs. Visit Kyi Monastery [4116 Mts.] at the distance of
11 kms from Kaza. The monastery of Spiti with rare paintings and scriptures are written in Bhoti language, the mother tongue of the Bhotia’s who came from Tibet to Spiti to spread Buddhism in the area.

Day 06: Kaza /Jespa 160 KMS (Kyelong Valley)

Drive via Kibber village [4400 Mts] the highest village in the world & Dhankar. Further drive via Kunzum Pass [4551 Mts].

Arrive Jespa in the evening. The total distance will be covered in about 6 hrs.

Day 07: Jespa / Sarchu ( Kyelong Valley)

Drive over Baralacha-la [4892 Mts] to Sarchu. The distance of about 114 kms. will be covered in about 6 hrs. The landscape en route is magnificent.

Day 08: Sarchu / Leh

Drive for about 12 hrs. a distance of about 220 kms over Takhlang-la [5350 Mts.] the second highest motorable road in the world and Lachlang-la [5065 Mts] visiting the TakTak Monastery.

Day 09: Leh / Diskit Via Khardungla

Early morning drive from Leh to Diskit [Nubra 7hrs. drive]. The Nubra Valley lies in the north of Leh and is accessible over the Khardungla [18,380 ft] one of the highest motorable roads in the world. The valley is on the trade route from Leh to Kharga via Saser and Karakoram passes. Apart from unparalled trekking opportunities the valley houses several Buddhist monasteries such as Sumar [Khagar] and 350 years old Diskit Gompa famous for its mural. From Khardmag is drive to the village of Kharchung and then through starkly beautiful countryside to the TCP at Khalsar where permits have to be registered / checked. From here one has to turn to the left of Shyok River and drive for about 24 kms. Over a narrow steep road to Diskit.

Day 10: Diskit / Leh

Drive back to Leh. Retrace the route to Leh via Khsisar and Khardungla.

Day 11: Leh / Kargil

After very early breakfast leave for Kargil. en route visit Likir and Basgo Monasteries. Likir Gompa lies on the right side of Leh-Srinagar road about 4 kms from the main road and is famous for numerous Thankas. Basgo monastery contains many Tibetan inscriptions engraved on stones. Time permitting visit Rizong Gompa. To visit this Gompa one has to walk for about 2 kms. From the road head. Further drive over Fafu-la [13,489 ft] which is the highest pass on Srinagar – Leh road. A distance of 230 kms will be covered in about 10 hrs.

Day 12: Kargil / Ringdom

Drive to Ringdom via Panikhar. A total distance of 98 kms will be covered in about 8 hrs. Ringdom is a small village harboring the Ringdom Gompa. The drive along Suru River provides magnificent view of mountains and glaciers. One has to drive very carefully and slowly as the road is quite rough.

Day 13: Ringdom / Padam

Leave for Padam over Pansi-la [4406 Mts] the total distance of about 108 kms will be covered in about
10 hrs.

Day 14: Padam

Leave after breakfast for your excursion to Karcha Gompa by foot. You will have to cross the Zanskar River, and then a bit of a climb to Karcha Gompa. Karcha is the largest and most important monastery in Zanskar, has more than 160 yellow cap monks and is under the control of the younger brother of Dala-I-Lama. From the top of the Gompa, there is a superb panoramic view of the valley. The entire walk of 5 kms will be covered in about 3 hrs.

Day 15: Padam / Ringdom

Drive back to Ringdom via Sani Gompa.

Day 16: Ringdom / Kargil

Drive to Kargil via Panikhar. A scrrated ridge separates Panikhar and Parkhachik from where one can view the Nun-Kun peaks. The ridge goes along the Suru River.

Day 17: Kargil / Leh

After a very early breakfast, leave for Leh. Drive over Fam-la [13,489 ft.] which is the highest pass on Srinagar – Leh road, en route visit Lamayuru monastery- the oldest monastery in Ladakh, and also visit the Monastery of Mulbek- where the Chamba statue is carved out of a single rock about 144 ft. high. Also visit Alchi Monastery- about 65 kms from Leh situated in the vicinity of Saspol on the left side of Leh-Srinagar road across Indus River. Alchi is very famous for its wall paintings. One must take a torch to see the paintings in dark rooms, as there is no light. A distance of 230 kms will be covered in about 10 hrs.

Day 18: Leh / Jammu

Transfer to airport to catch flight for Jammu.

On arrival in Jammu drive to Chamba [3 hrs. drive].

Day 19: Chamba

Chamba offers a variety of stunning views touching the fringe of the Shivalak Mountains and having three well defined Snowy ranges. Also visit Laxmi Narayan Temple.

Day 20: Chamba / Jammu or Amritsar

Drive back to Jammu or Amritsar airport to take flight to Delhi. On arrival at Delhi airport you will be transferred to International airport for your onward journey.

Itinerary:

Day 01: Leh

Early morning transfer to Delhi airport to board flight to Leh.

Depart Delhi 0540 hrs by 9W 609 (except Saturday)
Arrive Leh 0655 hrs

On arrival at Leh, you will meet our local representative who will transfer you to your hotel.
Rest of the day at leisure for acclimatization. Leh, at a height of 3505 meters, is a high altitude cold desert with a low level of atmospheric oxygen. It is, therefore, absolutely necessary that visitors reaching Leh from the plains of India by air, give themselves sufficient time for acclimatization before engaging in any physical activity
Leh with an area of 45110 Sq Km makes it largest district in the country in terms of area. The district is bounded by Pakistan occupied Kashmir in the West and China in the north and eastern part and Lahul Spiti of Himachal Pradesh in south east.

Evening walk through Leh Bazaar.

Day 02: Leh

After breakfast, set out for a full day excursion of Shey, Thiksey and Hemis Gompas. Shey Gompa lies on the left side on the way to Hemis on the top of a hill and houses largest victory stupa with golden top. Thiksey Gompa lies on the left side of the same road. One can have a beautiful view of Indus Valley from this Gompa. Wall paintings of this Gompa are very interesting. Hemis is the famous oldest and wealthiest monastery in Leh. It belongs to the red sect of Lamas and houses numerous gold statues and stupas decorated with precious stones.

Day 03: Leh

Today we take an excursion to Khardung-la pass (18,380 ft.), one of the highest motorable roads in the world. Khardung-la is the gateway to the Nubra Valley, en route have a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains which includes Parcha Khangri, Stok Khangri etc.

Afternoon visit Phyang and Spituk Gompas. Phyang Gompa is 20 kms from Leh on the right side of
Leh-Srinagar road. The beautiful statues and Thankas are worth seeing. Spituk Gompa, which lies on the right side of Srinagar-Leh road, is about 6 kms short of Leh Proper. Some very interesting Thankas are pride of this monastery. Afternoon, visit Stok and Matho Gompas. Stok Palace Museum is about 12 kms from Leh across Indus River. It houses some old statues and other equipment. Matho is about 6 kms from Stok, and houses some incredible statues and paintings.

Day 04: Leh - Delhi

Morning after breakfast, transfer to Leh airport to board flight to Delhi.

Day 01: Delhi – Haridwar - Rishikesh

This morning, proceed towards Rishikesh., en route, visit the temples at Haridwar. Before you leave for Rishikesh, you must experience the evening aarti at Har Ki Pauri.

Day 02: Rishikesh

This day, is to discover Rishikesh - Rishikund & Raghunath Temple, Triveni Ghat, Bharat Temple and Laxman Jhoola. Ancient temples in Rishikesh add to the pleasure of exploring this area.

Day 03: Rishikesh - Uttarkashi

Post breakfast, proceed to Uttarkashi.

Day 04: Uttarkashi - Gangotri

Post breakfast, proceed to Gangotri.

The day is at leisure to acclimatize to the height, and explore the scenic surroundings.

Day 06: Gangotri –Chirbasa – Bhojbasa

Begin your trek to the starting point of the River Ganges – the first phase is via Chirbas to Bhojbas.

Overnight : Bhojbasa

Day 07: Bhojbasa – Gaumukh - Tapovan

Continue your trek towards Gaumukh -the point from where the holy Ganges originates. Thereafter trek back to Tapovan.

Day 08: Tapovan

Day at leisure at Tapovan.

Day 09: Tapovan

Day 10: Tapovan - Gangotri

Trek back to Gangotri via Gaumukh and Bhojbasa.

Post breakfast, drive back to Uttarkashi.

Day 12: Uttarkashi - Rishikesh

Post breakfast, proceed to Rishikesh.

Today, return to Delhi.
