SANTORINI

The Cyclades’ Are scattered over the deep blue of the Aegean, their illustrious charm making them extremely appealing. Birthplace of one of the Cycladic civilization

Some support the theory that Santorini is the lost continent of Atlantis.

Santorini is an other worldly place with a wild beauty, unique in Greece. Santorini is a "must visit" place in one's lifetime. Regarded by many as the most SPECTACULAR of the Greek Islands. Thousands of tourists come every year to gape at the sea-filled Caldera, a vestige of what was probably the largest volcanic eruption, ever. It is widely known for its natural beauty and its wines. The west side of the island is very steep. The collapse of the land between the island and the old volcano has left the east side that steep; it looks like it has been vertically cut by knife. Because of this, Fira (the capital town) as well as Firostefani, have some of the best sunsets. On the edge of the land there are numerous cafes, beautiful restaurants, and bars that are magnificent during the sunsets. Because of the steepness of the ground, houses are built in such a way that one house roof is the next one's balcony. Through these houses there are narrow streets laid with tiles, that offer the nicest walks especially during the evenings. On these streets are numerous tourist shops many of which sell beautiful ceramics made by Greek artists and other artefacts mostly of artistic nature.

Santorini is one place that is sure to impress and mystify the visitor, and surely one to be missed upon leaving. Words cannot describe the magic of this island; one has got to experience it to know why it is so much spoken about. It is no coincidence that more than half of the pictures one sees of Greece are shot on this island.

Oia is especially well known for its magnificent purple sunsets. While the sun sinks into the sea, its splendid colours spread throughout the sky. It literally takes your breath away! Get a front-row seat on the terrace of one of the many cafes lining the caldera, and enjoy a drink while watching the setting sun produce an array of colours beyond your imagination.

It is one of the most beautiful villages of the island, carved out of the cliffs and clinging to the edge. The architecture is amazing and is highlighted by the stark white of the buildings and the contrasting colourful doors and window shutters.

The islands conference infrastructure and perfectly preserved heritage, classify it as the ideal destination for events of large magnitude, while famous establishments and combination with its natural beauty, and give organizers an unbeatable comparative advantage on a European and worldwide scale.
