NICE

Both elegant and simple, Nice's charm comes from its exceptional climate as well as its beauty. Even in the winter the café terraces are filled with people happily drinking and contemplating the ultra famous Promenade des Anglais. Always in flower this wonderful walk follows along the bay, looking out onto the Baie des Anges and the beaches on one side, and on the other such luxury hotels.

The Promenade Des Anglais
The promenade is a walkway lining the Bay of Angels in Nice, and it actually runs for several miles. It has existed for decades, dating back to the 1800s when aristocrats from throughout Europe flocked to the inviting Cote d'Azur city. Today, it is a thriving concourse along a thriving Riviera city, home to many landmark hotels, dozens of cafes and miles of beach. It stretches from the airport on the western side to Old Nice (and the quai des Etats Unis) to the east.
The Chateau Hill and its park
Fortified town of the ancient city of Greek origin and then the first medieval city, the Actual “hill of the castle” which does not hit more than some relics shelter one today a park in Mediterranean essence and visible rocky waterfall since the alleyways of the old city. When you go up, you are rewarded by a splendid panorama given on the city and the vicinity.
The Botanical Garden
The garden was begun in 1983 with an initial planting of 100 species from the city's Museum of Natural History. It opened to the public in 1991. Today the garden contains more than 3500 plant species, mainly Mediterranean.
The Massena Museum
In a splendid Belle Epoque setting, facing the Mediterrranean between the hotels Negresco and West End, the Villa Massena, which re-opened on 1st March, features contrasting landscapes both in intensity and character. This modern museum, houses collections over 1800 objetc on three levels and in twenty three rooms, and favours a chronological, historical and thematic approach. The 15000 works of art of the museum, covering the most marking periods of the history of Nice from Bonaparte and the Napoleonic Empire (1793-1815) until the thirties, offer a rich and varied history of our city.
The Flower Market
The Flower Market at the Cours of Saleya is a bustling and exciting place, the lovely bouquets of mixed flowers arrayed on the many stalls are a delight for the eyes, and of course the aroma is fabulous. Lillies, daisies, Carnations, Marigolds, Baby’s breath are just a few of the blossoms you can find here. Place du Palais As its name indicates, the place du palais is where the Law courts of Nice is located. On this square, there also is the Palais Rusca, which also belongs to the justice department. The square is also notable due to the presence of the city clock. Nowadays, the Place du Palais is alive day and night. Place Garibaldi The Place Garibaldi stands out for its architecture and history. It took its name from Giuseppe Garibaldi who was a hero of the Italian unification.
The Chagall Museum
It contains seventeen superbly displayed large canvases depicting biblical scenes and themes from the Old Testament in bright, joyous colors. The Chagall Museum also holds sculptures, stained glass windows, mosaics, tapestries, preparatory sketches, engravings, and lithographs from this important 20th-century artist.
The Matisse Museum
This completely renovated 17th-century Genoan-style villa in the heart of the olive grove in the Gardens of Cimiez houses the personal collection of the great Fauvist painter who lived in Nice from 1917 until his death in 1954. Works from all periods of his life offer a comprehensive panorama: from the first paintings made in 1890 to the famous gouache cutouts, 236 drawings, 218 engravings and the complete presentation of the books illustrated by the artist.
