City tour including Sugar Loaf – 4 Hours
Our tour starts at the hotel; we will head downtown for an orientation drive through Rio´s colonial and business district. Then we will continue to Praia Vermelha (the red beach) where you will start your trip by cable car which will offer you a wonderful view of the Guanabara Bay.
First stop at Urca Hill on a height of 220 meters above sea level, with a beautiful view over Botafogo and Guanabara Bay. The attractions of this hill-top plateau include a heliport, a panoramic restaurant and an amphitheatre. The second stage of the cable-car is at a height of 396 meters. From this viewpoint, there is an uninterrupted and breathtaking view over the bay to Niterói, flanked by beaches and lagoons. Viewing the sunset from the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain is strikingly beautiful.
Corcovado and beach tour
Leaving the hotel, we will pass by some important residential districts until we reach Cosme Velho - You continue with the characteristic train to the Corcovado: a modern Swiss-made cogwheel rail climbs through "Tijuca" Rain Forest to the top of the mountain (710 meters). At the very top of the mountain, carved in soapstone mosaic in the finest art nouveau style, stands the famous Christ the Redeemer (recently voted as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World), a 38 meters tall statue with arms outstretched as if blessing the city, the world famous landmark of the city. From atop, you have a 380 degree view of Rio de Janeiro. We will return to the hotel along Rio´s celebrated beaches.
Tropical Islands Schooner Cruise
Early morning we will drive south to the fishing village of Itacuruça – about 01 hour drive. There we will board typical two-mast wooden schooners for a relaxing cruise on calm waters of a protected bay. Fresh fruits are served on board and we will make several stops for swimming.
Around lunch time, we will go to an island, where lunch will be served – buffet style. After lunch, we will have plenty of time to relax and enjoy the environment. Return to Rio de Janeiro mid afternoon.
There are several excursions that can be organized from Rio de Janeiro – from hang gliding to museum tour, or visit to a traditional Samba School or Soccer game against a local team. Liberty Brazil can design a program exclusively for your passengers depending on their interests.
