Situated in the heart of Salzburg's old town, Stiftskeller St. Peter was first mentioned in a document in 803 a.d. No other restaurant in Central Europe can look back on such an interesting and historic past as Stiftskeller St. Peter. The cosily panelled parlour is the centre of the restaurant, and has been a popular meeting place for people in Salzburg since the beginnings in 803. In 1763 Johann Michael Haydn, the brother of the famous Joseph Haydn, received accommodation in the old monastery walls. The Haydn-room with ist elegant atmosphere is ideal for festive occasions. The Inner Courtyard - in summer a shady garden, offering entertainment and relaxation, in winter a romantic winter wood with a mulled wine stand and traditional wind instrument musicians.
