STYRIA

In Styria you‘ll find many attractions such as the unspoilt nature of the Dachstein glacier and the enchanting scenery of the wine region, and there is an abundance of lovely scenic spots and many impressing cultural treasures. Styria enjoys a reputation of being the culinary centre of Austria.
Desire for diversity: in the north of the region, some 800 peaks at or greater than 2,000 m above sea level set the scene for the great Styrian hiking and biking experience around the huge Dachstein mountain at 3,000 m or so above sea level. Yet all this is not to forget the 3,500 mountain pastures, six nature preserves and one national park; and to the South-East, the five thermal spas within a radius of 90 km from the Hundertwasser thermal spa which have already turned the region into a premier wellness centre.
The castle road and apple orchards embellish the green surroundings of Eastern Styria – to the West, who could resist the famous pumpkin seed oil, Styria’s black gold and the birthplace of the world-famous Lipizzaner horses. Right down in the very south of the Province, sunny weather is a major factor in producing internationally well known premium wines on sun-kissed vineyard slopes.
