USHUAIA

Tierra del Fuego Island is the last province in Argentina and the Strait of Magellan separates it from the country. Its capital city, Ushuaia, located on the rugged shores of the Beagle Channel and surrounded by mountains, is considered the southernmost city in the world.
Ushuaia is the gateway to Antarctica, starting point for the many ice-breakers and cruise ships sailing to the white continent every summer. Nearby, Tierra del Fuego National Park protects a wide variety of flora and fauna species as red foxes, guanacos, beavers, condors and ducks. The coast and the islands on the Beagle Channel are the habitat of sea wolves, Magellanic penguins and cormorants among many other species.
